In Contrast, Bourget Gallery, Montreal, November 2006
This exhibition embraced the vibrant zine and graphic arts culture of Montreal. The title referenced the high contrast aesthetic dominant in the graphic arts, as well as the divide between that field and the traditionally defined fine arts; in terms of function, audience, and critical reception. Works from each artist were hung in clusters to resemble walls covered with gig posters. Sheets of blank paper and drawing materials were made available for working with during the vernissage (opening) and the results were displayed on the north wall.
List of artists: Julianne Bedard, Elisabeth Belliveau, Erin Candela, Jack Dylan, Lucas Fehr, Denise Kimball, Tyler Rauman, Rebecca Rosen, Serigraphie Cinqunquatre, Seripop, Dave Sheppard, Malcolm Sutherland, Janice Tiefenbach, Dustin Wilson, Vanessa Yanow
